Dawn on the Sibillini Mountains

Captured in the spring of 2007 with a Canon EOS 400D, this work bridges time photography and digital expressionism. The Sibillini Mountains are no longer just a landscape, but a living organism. Using digital brushes, I sought to capture the primordial, crimson energy exploding from the depths of the earth, juxtaposed with the cold, silent testimony of the moon. The visible grain and deliberate color choices transform a 20-year-old raw file into a timeless vision.

Red Tide

The point of contact between solid matter and liquid flow. Starting from a real detail of a wet beach, the perception of color is distorted through the use of digital brushes, transforming the water into an emerald wave crashing into a red abyss. The photograph ceases to be documentation and becomes abstract painting, an invisible energy that moves the elements of nature.

Mirages

An act of rebellion against figuration. Starting from a shot of a summer beach, I used digital media not to refine, but to transfigure. Through brushstrokes and a dense grain, the scene is stripped of its seaside chronicle. We no longer see the beach, but we feel the sun's glare on our retinas.

An infinitesimal fragment of sandstone is isolated and transfigured through the use of digital brushes, which act like forces of nature. The composition splits into two worlds: a desert of zenithal light overlooking an abyss of incandescent red. This is no longer landscape photography, but a pure exploration of matter, color, and the energy that resides in small things.
